There are over 500 temples around Beijing. Many of them are left in ruins. The Gridha Kuta

Temple was first built in Sui Dynasty 6th century AD. This famous temple enjoyed glory for 13

centuries until it was burnt down in WWII. Now what we can find is the ruins of the temple, the

tablets, pagodas and tombs. All of them are evidence of how Buddhism belief was once

so widely spread in China. This is also a great outdoor adventure. Hiking on the beautiful

mountain where very few people can be found. Enjoy the adventure through the bushes, the

natural scenery and the archeological wonders along the way. The hiking is about 4 hours.

 

Talking to Grandpa Wang is also a unique experience. He will tell you the stories from Japanese

invasion all the way to cultural revolution. This trip is a great experience for both nature lovers

and culture lovers.
